Description:
The R25400 is a 28Vdc solid state Alternator Controller designed for use with 24Vdc aircraft alternators. It provides Voltage Regulation, OV Protection, Remote Voltage Sensor, Low/Over Voltage Sensor, Low Voltage indicator output, Field-to-ground short protection, as well as an on-unit Field Fault/Function indicator, in one unit that is fully pin and function compatible with the Cessna equivalent units. The OV sensor removes power from the regulator (and that drops the alternator off-line) when the system voltage exceeds 32 volts. The indicator pin allows a light connected to it and bus to come on whenever the bus voltage drops below the LV level or alternator switch is open. The unit will turn itself off and turn on a RED light if it senses that the alternator field or field wire is shorted to ground. When the ground fault is removed or repaired, the unit with come back on line (with a GREEN light) once the alternator switch is cycled. If the wire from the alternator battery terminal to pin 2 is broken, the on-unit light will be OFF. All the other units that the R25400 replaces lack the full fault indication that this unit provides.
